Airbag (10/?)

Sungyeol thought it'd be a nice surprise for him to come to Showcase Night after he finished his revision. Sunggyu had told him all about Showcase Night and while he had politely declined to be a part of it, he knew straight away what Myungsoo would be doing.

He grimaced and kicked a metal can out of his way. The streets were awfully quiet, Sungyeol watched the occasional couple walk past, all stopping to look at the tall, gangly youth sitting on the park swing and staring into space.

Sungyeol had "excellent" timing. The crowd was already exiting the cafe, chattering about how good the performances were.

"Did you see Hoya, he's so good looking.."

"Woohyun's voice, oooohhhh, I could listen to him talk all day.. Too bad he's taken.."

"That Myungsoo guy is really, really cute.. I wonder if he dates.."

Sungyeol stopped in his tracks and smiled to himself. Myungsoo was becoming quite the ladies' man I see, Sungyeol thought, starting to push open the door when something caught his eye.

Myungsoo and Dongwoo were in the middle of the cafe, Myungsoo looking deathly nervous while Dongwoo was saying something. Sungyeol spotted the rest by the kitchen door, clearly eavesdropping. "No," Sungyeol whispered, his hands clenching into tight fists as he watched Dongwoo kiss the only person he's cared about for the longest time.

It's not like Myungsoo did anything wrong, he didn't even know about Sungyeol's feelings. Sungyeol had liked Myungsoo since well, forever. They grew up together when from the time they were kids and Sungyeol was there when Myungsoo's family tragedy occurred.

Sungyeol didn't expect Myungsoo and Dongwoo to get together at all. Myungsoo was the kind of guy who pulled away from people after awhile. He just couldn't get close to anyone except for Sungyeol. After he started working at the cafe though, he opened up a lot more to everyone. Sungyeol sighed and threw the beer can in his hand over his shoulder. He looked up at the lit window, a shape moving inside of the apartment.

At least one of them was happy tonight.

Myungsoo could hardly believe it. He tossed and turned on his single bed, hugging his bolster tightly. "Dongwoo~ Jang Dongwoo~" he sang to himself, smiling all the while. His cellphone buzzed on the bedside tabletop, his screen lighting up to show that he had a new text message. He scrambled over to the side and fumbled for his phone.

From: Dongwoo hyung

Hey, hope you got home fine, you should've let me walk you.. Goodnight anyway, I'll see you tomorrow.. Boyfriend :)

Myungsoo blushed at that last word. He went to Dongwoo's contact and edited it, changing it from "Dongwoo hyung" to "Dongwoo ♡" He hugged his bolster tightly to him, smiling as he fell asleep.

Myungsoo thought Sungyeol was acting a lot weirder than usual. He wasn't as playful as before, answering Myungsoo's questions with short answers.

One day in class, Sungyeol unexpectedly sprang the question on Myungsoo. "Are you together with Dongwoo?" he asked quietly, briefly looking up at Myungsoo while taking down notes for the lecture they were in. "What? Erm yeah.. I am." Sungyeol nodded. He just needed to hear that from Myungsoo himself. Gathering up all his willpower, he smiled at Myungsoo. "I'm happy for you." Myungsoo raised an eyebrow. "Really? Because yknow Yeol, it would mean a lot to me if you were okay with it too." Sungyeol sweared silently. Of course I'm not okay with it, I should be the one with you! Sungyeol wanted to scream. Instead, he succumbed to Myungsoo's glowing face.

"Of course I'm happy for you. You're my best friend."
