It feels like a long time since I've been to the zoo. It's incredibly mild weather for August, so much so that all the small carnivores were still out sunning themselves at 11 a.m. I got a better picture of one of the bush dogs:
I slept in until nine this morning. Wow. I'm sure I needed it, but my back always hurts when I sleep longer than six hours, and I also feel wiped out for the rest of the day. It's past noon now, and I still could just lie down on this bench in the zoo pavilion and take a nap. This is after spending from nine or ten to midnight last night sitting on the couch watching videos and drowsing. It felt so decadent! I guess idleness makes me tired. :)
Ooh, have a link I meant to share awhile ago:
T-Rex Treks.
This fellow is walking 1000 miles along with a 12-foot-long model of a Tyrannosaurus rex to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Today they're scheduled to be on Church Street in Liverpool. Dinosaurs and cancer fundraising, an unlikely combination of two awesome things!
