My home county fair is a small thing, but I find that charming. I love it, every time I'm able to make it. It has so many of my favorite things: livestock, dogs, crafts, farm stuff, and children.
Incidentally, I wandered out to a county fair while I was living in England in the 1990s. It was different, but kind of the same. I wish I'd been able to go with a local person instead of riding the train out to the middle of the countryside and wandering around by myself. There were so many interesting things to see, but it was hard for me to interpret them without a local context.

Home county chapa'ai
I can't help it, it always reminds me of a stargate.
And just a few random Things I Saw up through last week:
Luna moth
Ack Gifts
It's meant to say "tack" of course, as in equipment for horseback riding, but...
Stone penguin - back
My boss brought me this from Argentina.
Look! A bit of blue sky!
After a week of hurricane tail weather, it was kind of a relief.
Stem roots
It was so wet this week that my upside-down tomato plant figured it could grow some extra roots and get just as much water from the *air*.
