The story structure was an excellent choice. It really helped emphasize the creepiness and fear mass amnesia would create.
However. PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF ATLANTIS. If you're smart enough to take a polaroid to help you identify your commanding officer when your memory goes, you're smart enough to leave the soon-to-be-clueless-and-terrified crowd in the mess hall a note. A simple POST-IT would have been something. "Dear Mess Hall Prisoners: You have a disease that gave you amnesia. You are here for your own protection. Just chill while we send the aliens to pick weeds for a home remedy."
I like Carter's long hair. She looks pretty with her bangs wisping out. It looked like ass when it was all loose, dirty and stringy, but that's awesome. A person's hair *would* look like ass in that situation. And speaking of Carter, I'm glad she hasn't been a big part of the show so far. I love her a lot, but she's a newcomer here, and it would be weird if it felt like they were trying to replace Elizabeth.
Is Jewel Staite doing something different with her voice? It sounded like she was modulating it lower, and had the effect of making her sound monotone.
Okay, Rodney. I love that the plant whatshername wanted to name after Rodney was a cactus. Prickly, off by itself under the bushes. Heh. And then...[Rodney often forgets Mother's Day but remembers pi even when he has amnesia.]
Rodney: Wait a minute. Doesn't that make me a really bad person?
Teyla: It makes you the type of person who is going to save all our lives.
That is so true. Would you rather have a surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner, or a surgeon who was really skilled at surgery? Ideally both in the same person, but if you can only have one, I don't think anybody would choose the first one. Some people have skills so valuable that they don't have to be good with people.
And aww. The first thing Sheppard thought of when he heard people had died was to ask about Rodney.

Also. How excited am I about Tin Man? I know Sci Fi miniseries are hit and miss, but I'm not going to care if I get Zooey Deschanel for four hours. And it's Oz!
