I found this one at Petco, and I think it was $15 or less for the medium sized one. It's really just a padded chest harness with a long looped strap attached at the top which you can thread the shoulder belt through. How big is Molly? I know for smaller dogs you can actually get a booster seat, I think with harness, but that might get pricier.
We've taken Raja in the van before, but she doesn't fit in well because of her size. Also, since her eyesight is so poor, she can't see to maneuver into a comfy spot. She seems to like it, however. :)
How does the Fuzz handle being in the car? Abbey hates it.
It can be hard to accommodate bigger dogs in some vehicles, I know what you mean! In fact, one of my criteria in searching for a dog was size because of the type of car I have. I bet Raja would love riding around with her head out a window if that were possible though! :) And I bet, unlike Memphis, she wouldn't be tempted to jump out.
Poor Abbey! I'm so blessed with the Fuzz, he travels very well. He drove all the way from Rustytown to Waco with my mom when he was six weeks old, and he's been taking long trips with me in the car ever since. Maybe it helped that he's been doing it since he was a kitten, but I'm sure personality makes a difference too. He's so laid back. He doesn't like it as much anymore, being old and a little cranky, but he doesn't complain much once he's in the crate.

It always makes me nervous when I see people driving with their pets like that, but the pets always look SO HAPPY.

Oh, a doggie seat belt! We've looked for one for Molly and couldn't find one, where did you pick his up?
