They were really colorful and twirling so fast in the sun.

This is also a happy, but a happy via trauma. Here is the end of the story: Memphis trying to chase frolicking squirrels up a tree, happy and healthy as can be.

The beginning of the story is me shutting the end of his tail in the car door this morning on the way to daycare. He shouted and cried until I was able to fumble the keys out and unlock the door, then he was acting scared and wanted to get right into the car. I guess he didn't realize it was the car that got him. Maybe it was my panicked imagination but I was sure it looked like his tail was bent, and what if it was broken and he was wracked with pain and I permanently damaged him and so on. I drove him to daycare anyway, just to give us time to recover and see if there was really a problem, but I wanted to vomit. I hurt my puppy! By the time we got there he was acting normal, and the tail looked normal too, but I worried about him a little all day until I picked him up and he was fine. Happy, playful, tail straight (okay, properly curved). As ghoulchick said, mammals (human babies and other types) are sturdy. Thank goodness!

dogs, good things
