* Why *is* Phillip courting Connor so deliberately? What specific skill or experience does Connor have that all Phillip's money and resources can't get some other way? Connor is special, definitely, but I want to know exactly what Phillip is looking for. I won't be too surprised if it turns out that Connor is just a pawn and Phillip played him very carefully. Everything Phillip does just seems so calculated and manipulative. And the fact that he wants it all to be secret makes it so much more fishy. (Not that this show hasn't used misdirecting before...)
* Oh, Connor. One flattering job offer and he's acting cocky, which somehow brings out his awkwardness more. *facepalm* I do believe that his ultimate purpose is to use Prospero's resources to solve the anomalies, but he's also really pleased to have been asked. BUT he does try to find his principles in the end.
* Location shoot, yay! I love pretty scenery. (In my head, this is Primeval's version of Torchwood's "Countrycide." Especially with Connor's Deliverance reference.)
* Witchfield has a mythical creature! THIS IS A JOB FOR SARAH. :(
* Keeping track: Phillip isn't concerned with the creatures or what to do with them, he's obsessed with understanding the anomalies. And it doesn't seem like mere academic curiosity or survival-based strategy.
* Also keeping track: "Ethan" says he vowed if he ever got back (presumably to our present day, since he knows how to drive) he would find his family and make them pay, make them see what he's seen and suffer like he's suffered. *cough*Torchwood's Grey
* Abby is badass. I like her going to town on a monster with a fire extinguisher better than her fooling around with martial arts. It seems more genuine. I guess her time in the Cretaceous taught her real no-rules "street" fighting. (Or there wasn't room for kicking in an RV.)
* Aw. Matt really wants to save Emily. You can tell by how seriously he runrunruns And then when he does save her, creepy mentor guy encourages him to sacrifice Emily for the greater good. "Harden your heart. Do your job."
Um, I looked it up. Creepy mentor guy is called Gideon. That's good, because I don't actually think he's creepy anymore. Mysterious, difficult maybe.
* Keeping track some more: the anomaly can be influenced by chemicals. Interesting.
