Comedian Mitch Benn has written a song and
made a delightfully low-budget music video celebrating the BBC in the face of attacks the Beeb has apparently been getting of late. Talk of privatiz(s)ation in the face of austerity cuts and such, I think. The video is basically a list of great things the BBC offers (Doctor Who is mentioned multiple times!) and a small crowd of regular people holding cue cards and dancing. Very happy making, plus you get to see the adorable
@thingsgretasays and her baby sister. The UK audience will probably get the most out of this, but there's enough of an American audience that when NPR recently gave listeners a chance to send in questions prior to an interview with the head of the BBC, the most requested question was "Is there a chance of letting US viewers pay the license fee and have access to the BBC iPlayer?"

I'm proud of the BBC
It's not that slick
But it was never supposed to be
...
It's British as midsummer showers
And it's ours
