A Good Reason to Never Sleep

Last night me and my buddies are up at like two o clock with nothing to do so, Scott across the hall recommends that we go to Walmart and grab some food or something. So we do, but I reminded him of the game Shadows of the Colossus, and he wanted to play it so he got it. We all came back, all being Ben, Steve, Scott, Ryan, and I. We traded off for three battles and stopped because we were just, so blown away. That game is truely a cinematic experience. And if you play it I gaurantee it will be the best in your collection. The story consists of trying to bring this girl back to life, which isnt anything you dotn know in the first 5 minutes, and to do so...all you have to do is battle sixteen giant colossi that plague the land. So, the game is made up of saving a dead girl, by fighting sixteen boss battles. Back to the cinematic thing though. When you ride on your horse Aggro ( not sure of spelling ) it is the most legendary thing you might ever see in the game. You see, when you ride the horse, its not just the physics or graphics, but its the camera view that adds to the entire eye-gasm. Because when you ride on the horse and look into the scenery while going to fight a colossi, the camera shifts down to sit you in the corner of the screen, so you can see more stuff. And also it throws your health and grip meter away completely (not like you need it while riding) so...its just you...the horse...and the scenery. The graphics only fail when your camera view gets in really close, but then again what game doesnt? So, now to the three battles that we have done so far. After finding the giant things, which is sometimes a pain, as you have to jump and climb over things and leave your horse behind sometimes, you then have a huge..Eifle tower sized beast wanted to smash you in the face. They dont move very fast but two moves and you are pretty much dead. The first battle is kinda meh, but thats only cause its the first battle and what Scott did was pulled out his bow and arrow, and shot at it right away cause it was walking away from us.

Here is our reaction...
Me: "Holy shit thats huge..."
Everyone: "Jesus Christ"
**Scott pulls out his bow and shoots the colossi in the back**
Scott: "Dude I dont think it even fel-"
Us cutting Scott off: "HOLY SHIT ITS TURNING!"

It was so intimidating, and heart pounding but at the same time, it was like you were watching a movie. It doesnt matter if you dont get to play because watching it is just like going to the movie theaters and spending a few bucks to see a flick. Our second battle consisted of this four legged ram looking Colossi and you had to shoot it -under- its hooves and get it to fall. But, Ben who was playing gave a mental "Fuck that" and went on his horse like a pimp. He procedded to stand up on his horse, steer wobbly beside a giant leg about to crush his tiny body, jump off his horse, and then cling to the hairs just above the giant hoove. During my battle though, my colossi was twice as big as the first and second, held a giant stone column for a sword about as big as he was, and tried smashing me in the face with it. It took some time to find a good place to climb up, but then he kept doing this thing where he smashed the sword in the ground, being as his legs were kind of round and impossible to climb. So...when he slammed the sword down the last time, it got stuck and bam I jumped to my feet and started -running up his sword-! I feel off a bunch of times cause you have a grip meter which I mentioned before. It would only make sense that while holding onto a bucking giant the size of ten of my highschools your hands would get a little tired. So, I feel off a few times, and while falling my grip meter went back up and I grabbed onto a large platform by his belly, shiting my pants from the big ass fall and wiping my brow cause it was so cinematically nerve racking.

Now, I can only imagine that the battles get harder and harder, with more places to injure on their bodies. And they can only get -bigger- as well.

In other gaming news, the people on my floor still insist that I never play Halo 2 with them again. Because I just played a game like ten minutes ago with 3 other guys in a 2 on 2. Lets just say the score was 50 to 12 and I didnt have 12 deaths...but I did have 36 kills.

So thats that and ill hit you with a post later. Peace.
