Feral kitten update..
There was no appearance by the kitten last night, but this morning I found it under another patio. We chased it out of that hole and decided to name it "Houdini" because of all it's escape attempts!
It ran back into a drainpipe it's been using a lot and we set the trap up outside of the pipe and secured all other access areas. It has NO CHOICE but to go into the trap. We even pinned towels all around with bricks and safety pins.
It sprung the trap late afternoon, but escaped back in the hole because one of the towels jammed the door. (Houdini fits, let me tell you...) I re-rigged it so it wouldn't happen again and I've been baiting the trap about every hour and a half with warm (gross!) canned cat food.
Eventually we will rescue this poor baby kitty... until then, it's another quasi-sleepless night for me. Baiting/checking the cat trap in the cold wee hours.
