...Dreaming of a White Christmas

Nov 16, 2005 12:13

So I've been disappointed for about the last month. All the hullabaloo surrounding Tech says SNOW SNOW SNOW! And yet we hadn't had any. Maybe a flutter when the rain froze a bit, but nothing nice.

All of that has changed.

Yesterday it was raining. I thought I wouldnt see white before we left for Thanksgiving. Little did I know that the rain turned to snow later on at night, and it hasn't stopped yet. Overnight we got about 3 inches of snow, and there are drifts that are literally 3 feet high in a few spots. People are finding any and every hill and using whatever means necessary to have a good time. I knew it was going to be nice, but I really had no idea what fun it will be.

I can't wait for Winter Carnival. My hall is making either a Calvin and Hobbes ice statue (designed after their many snow escapades), or a Flinstones themed statue.

If we're lucky, we'll break the record of 34 straight days of snow. Last year was 30, year before was 29 and 3 years ago was the record. And I'm talking constant snow, not just consecutive days in which some snow fell.

I LOVE WINTER AT TECH
