The Silver Apple
Ladon's speakeasy in downtown Jardin (Residential Zone 09)

General Information
Ladon's speakeasy can be found in downtown Jardin, in a relatively nondescript looking building. From the outside it appears to be something like a closed-down fancy restaurant with blackened windows and a brilliant red door. Anyone wanting access to the speakeasy needs to knock four times and give the password to the guard robot before they will be able to enter. Otherwise, all entries are locked, barred, and enchanted by Ladon. This includes the windows. No breaking in or breaking out! Ladon is enough of a thief himself to know how to keep others out and his stock (and patrons) protected. Ladon has also armed his guard robots with tommy guns with unlimited ammo charms, so breaking in isn't the best idea anyway.

The atmosphere is what you would expect from a jazz club/speakeasy in the 1920s. The place is smoky (Ladon will likely be chain-smoking, even if his customers aren't), dimly lit, and well-stocked with all kinds of alcohol. The furniture is all old-fashioned and movable, Ladon's done his best to procure authentic details to tone down the metal-and-plastic feel of futuristic bars and replace it with what he's more comfortable-- solid, honest wood chairs and tables, silk drapes, hard wood floors and woolen carpets. The bar is made of dark oak and Ladon has covered all the smooth, iridescent lights with shades to both dim the lighting and remove that smooth, sci-fi feel in favor of something older. There's a big wooden stage at one end of the place, and with the help of Raimi, Ladon will have set up his music system to project holograms of musicians playing classical jazz. For an accurate idea of what's being played at any time, hop on JAZZRADIO.com and click on the Big Band and Swing station. Ladon will also willingly disable the fake performers in favor of real ones if anyone wants to play or sing, so long as you don't scare away the customers.

That said, if someone convinces him to host a karaoke night, he might. Maybe.

What's Available?
Any kind of alcohol you could want. Ladon knows how to make most drinks, provided it's not something otherworldly or invented after the 1940s. He's a quick study, though, so if you tell him how once, he'll likely remember. The cook robots will make you anything on your standard bar menu.

Ladon has a couple waterpipes set up in corner rooms with your standard flavored tobacco. He's hoping to get his hands on some opium eventually, but he's been too busy getting the speakeasy itself up to worry too much about smuggling drugs yet.

Who Has Access?
Anyone with the password. Anyone. Doesn't matter if you're old or young, organic or synthetic, criminal or goody-two-shoes... If you're stuck here, not on Ladon's blacklist, and have access to the network, you're welcome in the speakeasy. No credits are necessary. However, if you're only showing up day after day to drink yourself to death, Ladon may bar you from coming in until you've cleaned yourself up and come to terms with your situation. He doesn't enjoy babysitting broken, sobby drunks at all times, but understands the newbies may need some liquid courage to deal with their sudden relocation and doesn't find denying someone brand new alcohol to be an acceptable side-effect of the station's economic system.

That said, Ladon has no problem with serving kids. He's a softy though, and will not make their drinks as strong. He also will not let them leave drunk, and certainly won't let them drink enough to black out. However, if they're curious and just want to get tipsy, by all means.

Blacklist currently includes: Hypatia, Twosix-six, AM, Ridley, Robotnik. Start shit, hurt people, or make yourself out to be a big, station-threatening sociopath and Ladon'll blacklist you too. It doesn't matter if you have the password-- the guard robot will not let you in.

Want to Help?
Ladon will be tending the bar most the time, though he may take nights off or want to conduct business meetings elsewhere in the bar. That said, he's willing to "hire" some help if the speakeasy becomes popular enough. He can't pay you a standard salary or fee due to how the economic system works, but he'll willingly reimburse you in other ways, including free booze and weapons, or any other perk to having a mobster boss that you may desire.

Setting Logs/Threads in the Speakeasy
Conversations: So, say you want to set a conversation between two characters in the speakeasy. Naturally, I can't be around for all threads, nor would Ladon be doing much other than milling around in the background, cleaning, smoking, and being grumpy. However, if you do set your log in the speakeasy, be sure to state where it's happening. If it's at the bar, Ladon may eavesdrop on it while he bartends because, well, he has two ears and he's developed some paranoid instincts since getting involved with the mob. He may also mention this to your characters later. If you don't want him having this knowledge, either let me know or set the thread/log somewhere else in the speakeasy, like one of the tables. For convenience's sake, we'll just say he won't bother with listening in on table conversations.

Fights: As with any place that introduces alcohol to tense situations, there are bound to be brawls. However, Ladon being the prudent businessman he is (and not wanting anyone hurt, especially kids) will intervene if a fight breaks out. You have two options depending on how you want the scene to go:

1. If you want the fight to continue, assume that the robot guards in the bar forcibly escort the two brawlers outside. They can pummel the crap out of each other on the street for all Ladon cares.

2. If you want the fight to break out but not necessarily conclude, Ladon can intervene. He has enough electrical magic to shock the shit out of just about anyone and will do so in order to knock the fighters out. They'll wake up later having been tossed out of the bar-- unless Ladon actually likes them, then they may be in one of the back rooms, recovering.

Note that if you break it, Ladon will bill you for it. This includes bar stools, tables, bottles of booze, and any other furniture. The windows won't break. He'll send invoices to whoever broke what and expect some form of payment/replacement, or else. He is a mobster. He knows how to get people to pay up.

What if I want to do X, Y, or Z?
Ask me! I'm willing to negotiate any kind of event/plot/happening! Nothing here is set 100% in stone. Precautions are simply in place to keep stuff from happening since Ladon does his best to guard against being exploited by other mobsters. I'm very flexible in terms of plots, I'd just rather his bar not get burnt down, trashed, taken over, or something without permission. ♥

I have a question not answered here!
Ask in the comments, I'll get back to you as quickly as I can. :]
