Ok, I will now continue. I am sure you were waiting with baited breath.
Jagged Little Pill-Alanis Morrisette- Please, like this wasn't every bitter woman's favorite album in the mid 90's. Honestly, I just think she is a talented woman. The fact that she was bitter just added more enjoyment to it. And really, who doesn't like to bitterly say to their ex "And are you thinking of me when you FUCK her" Or something about going down in a movie theater? Seriously, talented woman :)
Throwing Copper-Live- This was a little more alternative than my usual choices. I saw them in concert and loved them. Gotta admit, though, I don't know what they did after Throwing Copper.
Pretty Hate Machine-NIN I went through a meaningless, faux "Goth" phase when I dated this guy my senior year of college. This guy was also a little in love with Trent Reznor and turned me on a little to NIN. I had heard of them before, and of course who didn't know the song "Closer", but it was Pretty Hate Machine that I fell in love with (along with the guy). When he dumped me, it seemed to match my mood perfectly. I still listen to it when I feel a little rebellious or angry.
The Best of Van Morrison-I was a dork in Jr. High and High school, and it took me until college or after to hear about great rock type bands from the 70's and other eras. So you can imagine when Rock Band came out, I looked stupid because I didn't know half the songs. But I digress. A friend of mine hooked me on Van Morrison. I have not purchased any other Van Morrison albums, because this covers all the most popular songs. I love Moondance. Just thought I would share.
Bat Out of Hell-Meatloaf I am backtracking. This was popular with a couple of my friends in High School, which was also when Meatloaf gained popularity with Bat out of Hell II. Most people make fun of it, but I love it. I love almost all the songs I have ever heard that were written by Jim Steinman. In fact, there have been songs I have heard and said "man that song sounds like it could be a Meatloaf song" and sure enough it was written by Jim Steinman. I love that they tell a story, that they change during the song, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the piano in them.
Ok...I am at 11, and I am having a tough time. I tend to listen to 1 or 2 songs from different albums that have gained popularity through the radio. With the invention of MP3's and iPods, I don't buy whole albums anymore. I bought a lot of cassette singles in high school. If I think of another one I might add it later.
