Mid Term

Blessed am I not to have mid term exams.  But, that does not mean this isn't a mid term for me.  For this week marks the mid...term of this Fall Trimester at Franklin University.  While some assignments are still needing a look over, most of my grades are back.

For those who didn't know, I became a college student this past Summer at Franklin University.  While Franklin is located in Ohio, I am currently enrolled in their distance learning program.  They are a not-for-profit school fully accredited.  So no worries there.  Anyways, I passed my first class with a 94.  FANTASTIC for someone who has never done the college thing before.  So this Fall trimester (they do their scheduling by trimester not semester), I took two 4 hr classes instead of just one 2 hr class.  While it is great that I am moving along with my degree, this has been a very difficult 6 weeks.  I'm working 40+ hours a week and taking 8 hours of courses.  While this may not seem like much to some people, to me it is way more than I thought it would be.  Especially now that work has picked up.  Though usually this is our busy time of year.  Between September and December, and January through about March or April.  I decided to enroll in COMM 120 - College Writing and SCIE 131 - Environmental Science.  While both are teaching me things I never knew, they are very trying at times.  I can say that I have never written so many papers in 6 weeks.  At least one due a week PER class.  BUT I will say all of these tough assignment due dates and struggling to keep up pace has paid off.

I currently hold a 100% in Science, and a 99.18% in College Writing (due to 2 points missing because I forgot to post three questions about a research report that is due in Dec.)

I am shocked.  I honestly didn't think it was going to A) be this difficult and B) this.....simple.  It is almost as if the work is hard and easy at the same time.  Maybe it's just the fact that the work is very time consuming.  And I have learned a great deal about the environment in regards to major environmental issues and the way the environment interacts with everything else.  Also energy consumption and the like around the world.  Absolutely amazing numbers there.  And my writing class, the many different types of papers and APA format.  Very interesting.  Now if I can just get time management down I think it would be much better.

Other than all that, I guess things are going well.  I can't really complain about anything.  Things are going as they should I suppose.  There is a reason for all of it.  And I am slowly but surely accepting things as I should.  Though I can't help but to say I will be very very glad when this trimester is over.  SIX MORE WEEKS!!  (Dec. 15)
