I've been lifting weights/training for MMA for a little over two years now; bordering on religiously. I do not miss a work out, and I do not miss a meal. I've been unable to notice 'real' improvement in my physique, although the amount of weight i'm able to move has increased dramatically. I've gone from not being able to squat for fear of re-injuring my knee to squatting 420lbs in a matter of 3 months. My wife found my old myspace, and looking at the pictures made me realize just how far i've come. I may be fighting genetics, but I can't forget that I'm actually winning.
Sure, i've had people tell me,
' Dude, you're getting big!'
'Are you using steroids?'
But I never took them seriously.
For a guy developing from a horrible set of genes, i'm really not doing that bad.
Lift harder. Lift Stronger. Live Better.
I'm not doing this just for me, I'm doing this for my wife who deserves a husband that can overcome anything, and for my future patients that need strong, steady hands to provide them with proper emergency medical care.
I require discipline.
I require strength.
I require the confidence necessary to extricate a patient from a burning car and save their life.
I'm not just fending for myself anymore, now people depend on me, and I will not let them down.
