I'm very excited today because I was accepted into the Masters of Science in Technology program at UCF this morning. They had some sort of a graduate program open house this morning for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Basically, if you hadn't applied yet (the deadline is next Tuesday), you could come in and possibly be approved on the spot. Kinda sounds like a car dealership commercial lol...Anyways, I didn't know if I could do this because I already submitted my application, but I figured what the heck and decided to give it a try.

I met with Dr. Motlagh who is in charge of the program and explained the situation. He asked what my GRE scores were, really liked them, then basically told me that as long as it was ok that I already submit my application, he would approve me for the program right then and there. So, everything checked out alright and I've already got my schedule set for the Fall. I'm taking Research Methods and Statistical Analysis (major yuck to the second one). I was going to take three classes and be full time, but he recommended I start off with two just so I can get a feel for what the course load will be like. I think that's great advice, especially since I will be working at the the same time, so I took it.

Now, I have to apply for student loans. I think I'm going to go with the Federal Stafford Loan through Wachovia. Fixed interest and as long as I keep half full time standing, I don't have to pay anything back until six months after graduation. The only problem is that I have to fill out the FAFSA form. To me, it's a bunch of crap because they are going to see how much my dad makes and sit there and tell me that I shouldn't need any loans; that my family should be able to cover all expenses. It would be the same response UCF gave me when I went there for my bachelors. Complete and utter BS. But, I'll just have to see what happens. Still, I'll find a way to make it work and I'm really excited right now.

May The Force Be With You
