This entry pleases me, I had the same experience with Tower Knight and got hooked the same exact way. Just wait until some of the later encounters, some of the bosses are really amazing :D
The tower knight wasn't so bad. I got him on my second attempt without taking out the archers as a lightly armored magician (I didn't even realize you could go up there), so long as you stay constantly moving/rolling they won't hit you. That's the thing I think, most melee-based starting jobs start with armor that encumbers them just enough to prevent quickly rolling, so that may cause some strife when taking him on early, as blocking on him is totally useless haha.
But the game is just a huge learning experience with a steep initial curve. As time goes by and you kill more bosses, you find the difficulty eases up a lot, though you'll still be treading through the levels carefully haha.
Wow, I have been looking forward to Demon Souls for a bit. Unfortunately, my cash flow being what it is, I have to really stick to what I can afford though. It looks pretty awesome.
As for the length of games... well, I always basically budget myself on time to cost ratio. If I was to go out to a movie alone it would cost me around 15$ for a matinee or 25$ for an evening showing. A movie is like 7.50-12.50$ an hour. So a 12 hour 70$ game(gotta add taxes on the 59.99 tag) is just under 6$ an hour of entertainment. I demand a little more for my gaming time than movie time, but if I am getting a 12 hour (repeatable) gameplay experience with a fun Co-op experience like Uncharter2 has, thats pretty much a no brainer of a value in my opinion. Now if FF13 is released and is under a 50 hour game then I will be pissed.
