I agree with most of what you said - most of the negative points are just small, irksome things. The gameplay itself is really fun.

A friend asked me "What makes you think you'll stick with this one?", since we've played FFXI, WoW, WAR for more extended periods of time and AoC, Lineage II, Tabula Rasa, and LotRO for shorter periods of time. I can't really put my finger on it. Perhaps part of it is that it has a level of polish I haven't seen in most other MMOs since it's been out for a year already.

I think part of it is that sense of empowerment you get that you mentioned. I'm really motivated to level up my character - she looks cool, her abilities and spells look cool, and I want to see what the next level has to offer. Maybe this is the typical "horse chasing the carrot" thing, but the draw to level up for me feels more like FFXI than any other MMO I've played.

One little extra thing I like about it is even though the stories for the quests are pretty typical, I enjoy the fact that you seem to be having a conversation with the NPC and not just reading a giant monologue. Makes me take the time to stop and read all of the quests.
