Honestly sometimes I do believe my dad is a bit odd (alright so my whole family is weird). Yesterday while drinking tea at grandmother's dad suddenly walks in the door and goes something like "Here you are. You weren't answering your phone."
Huh?
So you drove all the way here to tell me I'm not answering my phone? Well as you can see I'm not answering my phone 'cause my phone is at home and I'm not. Being as I am here at your mother's drinking tea.
See he'd thought I'd turned the sound of my phone or something, but then I wasn't at home either, though the car was. He followed my footprints to grandmothers since all the neighbours managed to say was well she definitely left home in the morning (grandmother lives next door as well).
Turns out the reason he came over was not only to inform me of me not answering the phone, but also to fix the lock on the bathroom door, which I'd mentioned earlier in the day. Then he goes over to look at grandmother's bathroom door and goes all "well you can't close this either, maybe I can do something about it."
Well dad, that door's been broken for the last ten... maybe fifteen years, you randomly decide to fix it now?
He remembered it had been broken for awhile, but apparently hadn't realised it was that long.
Yes it broke when his sister, my aunt was living there and her oldest kid was a baby, said kid is now in lukio :)
Also I apreciate the door fixing in my own home, and definitely did want it to get done soonish, but since the door has been broken since my now thirty one year old brother got locked inside when he was around ten years old, well I didn't expect it to happen imediately after I mentioned it.
Of course the door needs a new lock and it didn't get fixed yet, but he did fix two other doors that you can now actually open and close without any major problems. There shouldn't be any other incidents with me getting locked inside now, at least one door to the outside world should work.
Also I'm trying to install... uh... no idea what they're called listat? into certain bits of my home. Yes I did manage to saw myself in the leg. With a jiirisaha... mitre saw? I don't even know how that would be possible... but apparenly I did, but just a tiny bit and I only noticed it when I was showering. I'm very good at this construction thing you know, but then scrapes and cuts are quite normal whatever I do.
So once I get the listat in place, I'll empty that one room, remove the old wall paper, paint the ceiling, put in new wallpaper (that'll be interesting) and then dad promised to help with the floor, because technically speaking I have done floors like that before... but it'll be much much faster if dad does it and he's better at using a sirkkeli anyway :) Of course that's the plan, I either might or might not get it done.
