What do you read to your children?

I have a three year old, and I usually get her new picture books in English, but tell the story in Russian for now.   Later on, when she is in school she might read them in English.   However, since I did not grow up here, I do not know what to get, and it takes me a long time to go through dozens of really stupid ones to find something good.  So I had this idea of a book list.

Please forward the link to your friends that have kids, enjoy reading to them and are tired of hundreds of useless children books. 
Please add recommendations for books you enjoyed reading again and again to your kids, those that were worth it, those
that became your and their favorites. I would also love to have recommendations about English and US classics,
since I do not know many of them.

We can also start a list for another age group, if there is some interest.
