Do not use brake cleaner to clean glasses.
I was painting my muffler flat black (for that stealthly look!), and I accidently turned the nozzle around and sprayed it in my face. I had a dust mask over my nose and everything, but my glasses also got hit. I decided I immediately had to clean them off because I wasn't sure how pernament the paint was (it was high temp stuff).
Well, I didn't have any acetone, so the closest solvent I had in the house was either WD-40 or brake cleaner. WD40's more of a lubricant, so brake cleaner it was... it definitely cleaned the glasses, but it also cracked them!
doh.
the cracks are at the corners though, so not in my primary line of sight.
So kids, don't use brake cleaner to glass/polycarbonate!
