Now I have to figure out how to avoid an 11 hour layover in Newark. I'm considering paying a bit extra to fly Lufthansa so I'd go SFO - Hamburg - Lisbon - Azores instead of SFO - Newark - Lisbon - Azores. If only because then I also kind of sort of get to go to Germany and not New Jersey :P

I'd say it's worth it... an 11 hour layover in Newark sounds really boring.

Well apparently it TOTALLY SUCKS trying to get there from the states unless you're in the army :P
