I totally forgot to mention it here:
This elephant grabbed my boob a week and a bit ago... the one on the right. Her name is Sally.
(I was wearing peppermint oil on my chest, good for worn down nerves, I think she liked it.)
The ranch-owner/animal trainer was a real gem and Im heading back sometime over the next few days to pick up some more dung and get a couple of shots in with the elephants, documentation for the project. They're really curious animals.. their trunks are really moist and their skin really rough. They also make these amazing burble/growl/purring noises deep in their chests. Really tactile and precocious, they like it when you get up close to them and allow them to smell you. Their trunk ends have a surprising grip. Anywho, really amazing and exceptionally smart animals. I'll go into more detail about them after the next trip out to the desert to visit.
I also got to tuffle with a rhino named Spike. Really playful/friendly little guy. There were also tigers and bears and monkey's and pelicans and stunt-dogs oh my!
