Huzzah! She lives!

I have to ask - do we each have a protocol that a next-of-kin shall send word via the internet should one of us get hit by a bus (for example)? Believe it or not - I do! Logins and passwords all in one document with instructions. Some think that cyber friends are of little consequence. Well, in fact Lauren is mentioned in my last Will and Testament that we had drawn up right before our trip to Europe! Dear God, yes she is! Lauren, you are to inherit the contents of my Geoffrey shrine when I pass on. That's how much IT means to me - and that's how much you mean to me - so, please, dear, do keep in touch! LOL!

The very first thing I did when power was restored after the hurricane was to get on the Internet and let my cyber friends know that we were OK. It was literally the first thing I did once power was restored. Because I know that my friends care about me. It's not a little thing to post "Oh, look! A terrible storm is coming!" and then not be online anywhere at all for 6 days... People worry. I love my friends. 'Nuff said.

I absolutely agree with you dear, that 2012 was a most disagreeable year! I keep calling 2013 "Lucky 13" as a reaction to 2012. For us it was an election year, which is always shit. Add to that the illness of my beloved Dweedie that is still not diagnosed, having to replace both our cars (lucky that we were able to) the devastating storms (lucky though we were)that stressed us all out to the point where we almost cancelled Thanksgiving, looking to transition from my sucky, stepping-stone job (that I'm lucky to have) and it's just mostly headache with a couple of great consolation prizes thrown in (my new car and that Anniversary trip to Disney). Oh, and yay for the Anniversary but don't get the idea that 25 years of marriage wasn't hard fought. Love is hard work and it sucks sometimes, but that's love!

I dropped my camera on my last day at Disney and didn't get a replacement until recently - so I will try to post some pictures from 2012 (like I've been promising).

I've been hearing much comparison of Crowe and Rush's Javert - and now that we know the boy can sing... maybe he'll be given a chance to show Crowe how it's done...

I've missed you! I know that life can throw us things that are out of our control, even so I do hope to see more of you round these parts! When I think about the years, dear, that we all collectively longed for Geoffrey's recognition - and now it has happened in a big way - we are all over-due for quite the celebration! xoxoxo always

As I said to Cate... I never got the email notification for these comments? I get the comm ones but not my journal ones!? hmmm. Better late than never though 'eh.

Wha? Me though... shrine you say!?! Wow, what an honour, missy. I have certainly thought about the what-ifs but haven't gone as far as typing up a document with the passwords and such but now that you mention it, I will have to get onto that pronto. I know my newspaper and magazine clipping collection, not to mention my most prized Rushie piece - my Barbossa coin - will always have a good home to go to! Cate, Grace and of course your good self will of course make an appearance in such a document. Nothing can replace such a lovely online family as the Rushie ladies. You're always in my thoughts as I'm going about my day. Particularly you at the moment as you cope with the loss of your furry friend. Hopefully the rest of "Lucky 13" will bring you what you deserve. Keep smiling matey! It would be fab to see some of your Disney photos too m'lovely.

Weirdly though, at the same time as a replied to an SMS from Cate a few months back, I sent one to you also. Cate also mentioned that he would pass on my message just saying that I was alive and well when she texted just to check that I was okay and hadn't fallen off the face of the earth. Maybe hers didn't reach you either. It must not have gone through though? Not sure that I trust international text messages now after having so many either not reach the other phone or appear as symbols/strange code.

P.S- have either you or Cate had any news from Ali at all? I haven't seen any of her comments but that doesn't mean much since I have only just started updating myself on the comm entries. I hope she drops by again soon. I miss her presence. Also, what about Suzanne? Has she been about recently?

P.P.S- What a shame it was that Hugh Jackman missed out on the Oscar he so deserved! Bit of a bummer he had to be up against such a hot set of nominees. In many other years he would have been a much better chance but I still think it was such a daylight robbery. So not an Aussie year at all... of our 5 up for awards, not one was a winner. Bit of a pity but especially for Hugh because it was such an iconic role for him. Les Mis was such an incredible movie but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as mind-blowing.
