Ugh - the G.Rush group on Facebook is just getting too much... so much content all at once there's no way I can keep up with it.  Does anyone have time for that amount of stuff every couple of minutes?

I don't even think I can be bothered following it anymore, think I'll probably just UnLike it soon.  I hate stuff cluttering up my Facebook like ( Read more... )

I've only just signed up to the group so will see how long I last. I'm already falling out with the new lists system that's popped up on FB, tho, and I now seem to have updates from school friends and all sorts filling up my sidebar! I appreciate that we have more control over what updates we see and from whom, but at present there's too much clutter, as you rightly point out. I'll keep fiddling and see if I can't whip it back into shape... I've already given up on most of my FB games because they became too much bother.

But setting my Facebook language as English (pirate) is the funniest thing I've ever done. (Or at least I was in tears of laughter for quite a while! Heheh.) Especially when the poke on the opposite side-bar from one of my favourite gents became "Ye bin skewered!". *snorts* Well, I say... XD The Marquis would be proud!

haha that's hilarious! The Marquis would certainly get a kick out of it! I'll have to see if I can change mine... is it still an option or did I miss it?

It should still be an option - go to you account settings and check out the language drop-down menu. You can also have upside-down text if you want to be an extreme Australian. ;)

Oh wow, I'm so relieved to see I'm not the only person who's disillusioned with Facebook! Actually, I saw that you guys had joined that GR group, so I joined it, and at first I loved that I was getting updates sent straight to my e-mail so I didn't have to check every site on the web every time I get online without missing something. But you're right, after a while, I stopped having time even to open the e-mails cuz there were just too many of them pouring in like spam, and some of them, frankly, were a bit silly, like pasting your own face into a picture with him. Then again, some of us are lucky enough to have reason not to find the idea of actually meeting Geoffrey such a far-fetched fantasy. (Do you think maybe it's just a case of newbie fandom squee that will die down over time?) So I set a filter, and now I have them going directly into a folder instead of my inbox to open someday when I have some spare time. (Uh-huh. Like that day will ever come ( ... )

PS: Oh, right, I forgot about the pirate talk. Yeah, you can do that at any time. That was the best thing about FB, and I had it set to pirate speak for the longest time ... until the nonstop spate of changes to the privacy policy, which I wanted to make sure I actually understood. And what's with Zuckerberg changing the navigation around just for the heck of it--to keep people interested, he says! That's one of the number one things that turns me off! (Actually, I think what he really means is, to keep people coming back to Facebook, scrambling to keep their private info secure!)
