It's three months late and three thousand words longer than anticipated, but here it is.

This is really, really interesting.

I think by that I mean as much the genre as this particular story. You know I don't read fanfic much, and this is the first time that I've encountered a crossover fic where I've actually seen/read both things being crossed. So this is a very new experience for me.

I'm really impressed with the way you've pulled out the philosophical themes that are shared between the two stories. It occurs to me that writing crossover fics would be an excellent exercise for a comparative literature class.

Thanks. It's been fascinating to write. The community that spawned it has a Random Pairings Generator where they just put names in an electronic hat, and every so often I go look at their lists just to torment myself with the complete wrongness, which is often funny. But when I saw those two names, something went *spoing* in the back of my head, and something else started cross-referencing, cross-checking, and filing, and I sort of drifted over to a computer. I'm glad the shared themes between the two are visible to somebody reading the story, because frankly for a while I thought I had gone mad.

And yeah, I think it would be a great exercise for comparative lit-- possibly not even writing the fic, necessarily, but examining whether two works *could* be crossed plausibly, and the reasons why they could or couldn't. Especially if the works were from different cultures or time periods...

It's really making my head spin that Voyage of the Dawn Treader is about the end of the world in space (i.e. the edge of the world), whereas Utena is about the end of the world in time (i.e. the finish of the world) and that you've somehow managed to unite those.

Hmm. The honey is actually meant to be fairly Biblical, but it could also be an Utena-stylism. I'm not sure which. But I was fond of it.

As to the bit with Lilith-- I probably should have gone into it a bit more, but basically it was simply what he said and I had to reason it through after the fact. It boils down to: Akio is Lucifer, therefore Anthy is Lilith. Akio and Anthy basically made the world of Ohtori, so have had a lot of influence over it, as much as Adam and Eve over our world. But Utena is decidedly on Anthy's side, not Akio's, in addition to being female. If there'd been a human male character in the story, Aslan would have called him 'Son of Adam and Lucifer', and I probably really would've had to go into that one more. But Utena didn't ask about it, darn it.

This is very well done, and I look forward to part two. And oddly, I've been craving Utena for the past several days, so this was well-timed.

As have I. I have had strange urges to get _all_ of the series and watch _all_ of it _right_ now and then watch the movie.

Very silly, but still.

I liked the honey, actually. The movement of honey seemed to fit very well, as well as its luminosity.

I want part two very badly now.
