So I'm going through some major life decisions right now. I have a chance to reach for something that I really want and I think could make me very happy, but there's a lot of risk involved on an emotional level. I've been wavering for what feels like ages over it.
I came across this quote recently, from a video game of all places:
Regret, despite its softer bark, will prove to be far beastlier a burden than the pain of loss. So try.
--Masquerada, Songs and Shadows
It really made me stop and think. And it occurred to me that if I only do what I've always done, I'll never have more than I have right now. Or be more than I am right now.
So because of a silly video game, I'm going to try. Maybe it will be a colossal failure and end badly, but at least I'll know I made the effort. I'll have nothing to regret. I really think the game was right -- that would be far worse than failure.
I thought I'd share the quote just in case any of you might find it as eye-catching as I did.
Just some random musings on a Saturday morning....
