On the public action LGBT-active workers were detained in Kostroma
On December, 27th at a building of Kostroma Regional Duma have been detained organizers and participants of the action of the protest against acceptance in Kostroma of the law on an interdiction of "homosexuality propagation». Totally are detained 5 persons, among which chairman of the Russian LGBT-network Igor Kochetkov. At this moment the detainees are in a call center of Department of Internal Affairs of the Central district of Kostrmy.
It was planned to spend the action in the form of single pickets. In total for the areas has gathered more than 10 active workers who have prepared 3 posters with slogans: «Stop the homophobic law!», «gays and lesbians - not pedophiles! Deputies, switch on brains!», «Deputies, leave alone gays, be engaged in unemployment!». The others whistled in whistles. However picket didn't manage even to be begun, as vigilant law enforcement officers haven't allowed active workers to deploy posters. Policemen have demanded from all not to disperse, and those who tried to leave, caught up, sufficed for jackets, hands and dragged back. After 10 minutes 5 active workers with posters were put in police car and have taken away.
More than on the approach to a venue policemen approached to active workers with the request to show documents. Active workers in the accessible form have explained that such actions are lawful. It was not possible to explain illegality of counteraction of realization citizens right on peaceful meetings to policemen.
The action should be the second in a series of protest actions within the limits of campaign against acceptance of absurd laws in Kostroma, violating human dignity. The first reading of the bill in the Regional Duma should take place today.

Human rights activists and experts have already estimated this bill as absurd, illiterate and dehumanizing people with homosexual orientation.
