Vulnerability

As a SEAL, no fear is supposed to come naturally. Pounded into you by the incessant drive in training. Training that bleeding hearts call cruel. Training that teaches you to become and work as a team. To feel invulnerable in that environment, to never worry whether or not your teammates are there, because you can feel that they are just as you can feel that your hand is attached to your wrist. Stalking an enemy through my turf, be it water, a jungle, hills...they're my terrain, and that's what makes me feel as though I can conquer the world. Working with my TKR team, and knowing they will be there if I need them...that makes me feel invulnerable. Watching a criminal cower at my feet at the sight of a weapon in my hand, or the look on my face. That makes me feel invulnerable.

Getting lost and separated from my team. That's vulnerability. Being in love (though I would never trade it for the world), that's vulerability. Caring so deeply for anyone that you would die for them...that's vulnerability. Getting the weapon turned on you, being shot, stabbed, without a place to turn, another avenue to go down to accomplish what you came to do...that's vulnerability.
