By request, my family's recipe for Banana Bread.

BANANA BREAD
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 very ripe bananas
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
a pinch of salt
butter
(optional)
1 cup chopped nuts
Sugar and/or cinnamon to sprinkle on top of loaf.
Cream butter & sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, bananas & milk, mix well. Add dry ingredients (through salt) and mix well. (If using nuts, add here) Distribute batter between two small bread pans, lightly greased with butter, and sprinkle with sugar or cinnamon if using. Bake in preheated 350-F oven, 45 minutes or until done.
You can tell that the bread is done when it springs back when touched and a toothpick or small knife inserted into the loaf comes out clean.
