Day/Theme: August 24: "I am waylaid by Beauty"

She became an offical ninja of Konoha at age 9. At 13, she was promoted to chuunin. But it wasn't until one year later that Kurenai finally realized she was an adult. Worse, she was a kunoichi.
"Your skin is so soft," the man purred, sliding one hand under her blouse while the other hand hiked up her skirt. The only thing that kept her from breaking both of them was the fact that her mission was to extract information from him--by any means necessary. It was a reality she had logically concluded but not fully prepared herself for.
It's all for the mission, she silently repeated to herself along with various codes of shinobi conduct. Ninja gave their lives all the time for information, so surely she could sacrifice this. Perhaps this could also finally lead to an end of the war...
She pretended it was nerves and not disgust that made her look away when he positioned himself above her. Stiff and cold beneath him, she bit her cheek, telling herself that this pain was nothing compared to what others had experience. She was a ninja; a kunoichi of Konoha; chosen for this mission for her intelligence, skill--and for the beauty that now betrayed her.

Authoress Notes
The graduation stats for Kurenai are accurate, coming right from the latest Character Book itself. In fact, looking over those and her skills stats, Kurenai actually has a lot of talent that would make her an excellent spy. I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the things she was used for most in her years as a chuunin.
A dark reality to the life of the spy, and in my personal opinion, the kunoichi. For a female ninja, their body itself is a valuable tool to use against the enemy, especially if they're beautiful. There's no doubt that Kurenai definitely has a sophisticated and emphasized beauty; something that I think would have been used to the advantage of Konoha, especially during war times. For Kurenai, the wars didn't end until she was at least 15. (This is taking the sealing of the Kyuubi as a starting mark to the ending of the conflict.)
This drabble is, sadly, probably what a typical tale for the women who lived and fought as shinobi during the war.
