Sad and Happy Realizations

A couple days ago I found out some heartbreaking news (For me, atleast.) On August 5th, Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith, sustained some serious injuries while performing "Love in an Elevator" at a concert in South Dakota. He broke his shoulder and had to be airlifted to a hospital where he had to get twenty stiches in the back of his head plus other various treatments. The good news is he will recover just fine, the bad news is. . .

The. Remainder. Of. Tour. Has. Been. Cancelled. =( =( =(

I am SO crushed. I've been looking forward to this for three months and then with only five days left to go until the concert, I get this news. Even though I am majorly disappointed, I am also VERY relieved that Steve didn't break his neck or anything, otherwise I'd be devastated. But the angry part of me wants to say to him, "Steven, your over sixty-fucking years old, stop dancing around like your twenty and be more careful!!!" Like seriously, he injured himself three or more times on his tour. I know he likes to go above and beyond to put on a good show, but I do wish he would be more careful.

I'm terrified that this was my last chance to see them perform, and I've NEVER seen them perform. I just hope that they go on tour again some day.

But the good news is that I will be getting my money back for the tickets. (54 bucks each.) And once I splurge my money on clothes and go to see a good movie I'll forget all about this. I'm thinking of seeing District 9 or Ponyo.

Anyway, onto some of the happier realizations I've had in the past couple of days. My school schedule was recently changed, which frees up my wednesdays and lets me attend Karate classes with my best friend, which I was DYING to do. Today I got to see him earn his 2nd degree Blackbelt. It was so aspiring to watch, and made me really want to strive to become a Blackbelt some day too.

In writing news, I had a very huge "DUH" moment. In order to become a better writer I've been trying to read as many books as possible, but I haven't done even a whisp of writing, which is STUPID! So today I have decided to practice writing for thirty minutes each day in hopes that I'll develop some sort of decent writing skills. You might be thinking, "Duh, stupid!" Well, I don't blame ya. =P

Ahh, one nice thing about ranting in your livejournal is that it makes you feel better, which I already do. =)

p.s. I just read this quote from Steven Tyler off his website. He talks about the fall he had which ended his tour:

"I wanted to go out to the crowd to continue the show... so, the Train Kept A- Rollin' and I ran out on the cat walk and grabbed my mic to finish the song. I was doing the Tyler shuffle and then I zigged when I should have zagged... AND I slipped, and as I live on the edge...I fell off the edge!" -Steve Tyler

Lol. It's funny how he's so lighthearted about everything; Even a tour-ending injury! I'm just glad he's going to heal up just fine.
