I saw TMNT this weekend.
I feel my old obsession coming back.
I LOVE the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. LOVE THEM. And Raphael is my favorite. And this movie *spoilers ahead* is mostly about him trying to find his place in the world, on the team and with his brothers (well, mostly Leonardo). It's not that deep, trust me (the story needs some work) but it's fun and kickass. I LOVE the fight scene in the rain. Leo and Raph finally work out their contentions with fists instead of words and its great! Leo trying to reassert his big brother role after leaving for a year and Raph trying to prove that while he doesn't mind having his big brother around to guide him, he wants to be asked, not told. GUH. I love that scene. Did I mention that?
Good news is about half the people in the theater were my age so I didn't feel like a total dork for going. However, I did come home and immediately start dl'ing the first season of the new TMNT cartoon that started back in '03. And watched the marathon on Cartoon Network. And put Raphael as the desktop picture on my computer. And went back and saw the movie again. :D
Yes, I'm a big, fat dork. And I don't care.
