Mohegan

Fatimah and I took the bus from White Plains to Boston yesterday after spending Thanksgiving with our family in NY. Things were going smoothly and half of the bus was singing and chattering about Mohegan Sun. And then it happens. The bus began smoking in the back five minutes away from Mohegan Sun. The bus driver stops in the middle of the road and explains to us that we need to stop because he's not sure whether it's steam or smoke coming from the back of the bus. And everyone going to Mohegan Sun is upset about this because they can see the thing from where we are miserably broken down. For some reason Fatimah is having a good time the whole time talking to people en route to Mohegan Sun. The bus driver explains that he cannot do anything at the moment and that he's called for a bus or a vendor to come and fix the bus. The vendor is coming from Boston and Fatimah is under the impression that she can get a ride home with the  vendor. And for some reason everyone is worried that Fatimah and I are not going to be able to make it to Boston because they're all just thinking about MOhegan Sun and how difficult it is to get there and thus Fatimah and I are doomed to spend eternity on the bus. People are starting to actually express concern about just Fatimah and I and not other passengers that need to also go to Boston. The bus driver is slamming doors outside trying or pretending to fix the bus and when he comes back one of the Mohegan Sun women asks if the bus is fixed because she heard the slamming and banging. And he goes, "the bus? no it's not fixed I told you we have to get a vendor" and then the woman asks "well why don't you just call the casino and they can come and get their customers?" and that made the people going to the other three stops feel weird. The bus driver goes, "I'm doing the best that I can. No I did not call the casino what are you doing to help this problem other than complaining?" and then the woman says that she would call Mohegan if she had their number. And the driver is getting really frustrated with everyone and explains to us that we can't just walk off the bus because he's liable for our safety and the woman's like "I'm not so stupid that I'm going to walk off this bus" and it's a back and forth for a while. And then a greyhound bus is waiting at a light trying to ignore that a fellow greyhound bus has broken down and our bus driver gets off the bus to scream, "why didn't you stop? you're a greyhound bus!" and so we get a ride and Fatimah gives the guy a cupcake because he has to stay with the bus to wait for the vendor.
