Whee! Hyper after a day of not feeling well...
I took a walk this morning and it was beautiful. There is finally a fall nip in the air (it took until October...Toto, we're not in Massachusetts anymore...) Some trees may be said to be turning colors (also quite late in my mind, the ones across the street from my house start turning gold in August. But they are rather weird trees.)
This past week has been a week of DOOM and EVILNESS. First I had a 202 test, which I did miserably on, but so did everyone else. Except for the person who got the 100. Who should probably go hide under a rock until the end of the semester to avoid my wrath. I swear, we did not go over most of that stuff in class.
Then came the prob and stat test. It was okay, but I can't comment more since I don't have my grade yet.
Last but not least was the 220 test. I like that class. The professor is nice and funny, the lab TAs are nice, the labs are readable, the homeworks are doable, it's the area I want to go into....and the test was a piece of cake. Really, quite a nice end to the week. Of course, I started getting sick in the middle of the two hour exam and still had to finish the test and get myself home, but I think that's a small price to pay.
Hillel was very nice, and three of us came back to my apartment to play the official CarnegieMellonopoly game that my sister so graciously gave me for Chanukah last. I think Michael might have one, but it was pretty close at the end. I took a page from mpa's book and bought as much property as possible, got a monopoly, and then built like crazy, even if it meant I had to mortage a couple properties at one point. Oh and Fish...I think you may have won the eternal debate. Although it still might not be a good idea for us to play. But it's less of a bad idea, at least.
Yesterday was just weird...I only got a few hours of sleep since I was in pain, so I was oscillating between tiredhyper and really out of it. But I did get a few things done, and on the whole it was a very nice day, despite feeling icky. Emmeline (my RA) had free pizza in her room and the guys next door set up their projector and we watched Eternal Sunshine of an Endless Mind...I think that's the correct title. Anyway, it quite weird. Extremely weird.
Now, after catching up on my sleep, I am frantically finishing homework. I tried to finish making tayva (my desktop) boot gentoo, but it didn't work...it's just sitting at a grub prompt and I don't know what to do from here. The instructions assume you get past grub, and grub doesn't think I loaded a kernel, but I did!
Maybe I told it the wrong place? I'm so confused...I hope I don't have to do the whole install all over again, it's taken three or four days between everything else I've been doing. Maybe I should try a stage3 install instead of a stage2 install next time. Any thoughts?
