Derby Day! Louisville, Saturday [5/2]

May 02, 2009 01:52

The suites at the Seelbach Hilton were incredible, and the group was probably happy to crawl into their beds after the long drive from Milieux.

In the morning, they would find that a generous moddable room service breakfast delivered to their rooms. Afterwards, the chartered minibus would take them to Churchill Downs, where they would find their seats just before the 10:30 AM post time.

Millionaire's Row was not only a great vantage point to watch the races, but the Grand Chef Table started serving an extensive buffet at 11 AM. There were also plenty of Mint Juleps to go around and celebrities to spot between races.

If anyone felt like placing a wager, the track betting windows were not far away. Hopefully someone other than Dani's father would walk away as a winner.

In the evening, the group would return to the hotel. Since they were staying on the executive level, there were complimentary beverages and appetizers served in the lounge or people could go to any one of the restaurants on the property. With any luck, they would still have room for the dessert party Dani was hosting late into the night.

[NFB due to distance. Take a look at the hotel information on the linked pages because that place sounds incredible. For those of you who want to watch the Derby live, the race coverage starts at 4 PM Eastern on NBC. Please wait for some OCD is up!]
