Hey, gentle readers, how're you?  Strangely enough, despite the fact that today was frigid, it was actually sunny as well, which seemed to bring everyone up a little.  That and Monday was pretty brutal at work, in terms of my usual load.  One big wrench in the works at 6:45 and I spent the next three hours trying to catch up.  Boo.  But today was better.  And apparently Michael Schumacher is the Stig.  Who knew?  But, no, today was much smoother.  I had lunch with Ben, which was pretty awesome, since I managed to get out of the cubes for an hour.  And despite the weirdness of Friday night and my grave suspicions, he seems much the same; tired, messy-haired, and silly.  Yes, I know, you're all giving me that look my coworkers gave me when they heard about me having lunch with my ex, and yes, I do acknowledge that my crush is not fully resolved.  But, hey, I just like hanging with the guy.  It's nice to have lunch with a friend.  I don't understand fully the reasons for why we're not still dating, since we suit each other so well, but it is also fairly obvious that he has no interest in me anymore, so that's probably a big part of it.

Anyway.

He did at least have some amusing stories about the mason jar of pickled garlic that's taunting him from his fridge because he can't get it open anymore, and the fact that UP serves kick ass quesadillas.  He also had to work on Sunday, not so amusing.  He also showed me his squirrel-eats-nacho-chips impression, which is on par with my brother's impression of a panda eating bamboo (which is actually a french baguette).  Ben's squirrel impression was both slightly disturbing and hysterically funny.  The next time we eat lunch, one of us is going to have to get a quesadilla for the chips alone, because I want to see that again.  However, the fact that he imitates squirrels has pretty much solidified my mother's determination that he will never set foot in our house again...

I have a lot of stuff that I'm supposed to be doing; training programs, health stuff, investment stuff, retirement stuff, book club stuff, editing stuff, and I have every intention of doing it...and then I spend an hour watching Pet Shop Boys' videos.  I can't help it!  Procrastination is a heavy burden.  And my shows have returned to the airwaves, so House, Top Gear, Psych, and Burn Notice are all back on the schedule.  I am so lame.

And sleepy, so I'm heading off to bed.  Goodnight, all.

food, burn notice, psych, sleep, top gear, guys, winter, work, squirrels, house
