Dear me, I have been neglecting the journal lately, haven't I?  Oh, well, I've been rather busy expelling all my creative writing energy on the novel...and I really should be working on it now, but I'm not.  It's only Tuesday.  I have just watched a delightful film called Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, which if you're like me and adore all things British, 1930's, and happy endings, you would've watched it too.  Ah, such a delight!  And apologies for slipping into the 1930's vernacular, but it's fun to talk like that.  I promise not to go all Jeeves and Wooster on you guys.  That's a whole other community.

Let's see, weekend was good.  Talked to my lovely best friend for the first time since Christmas!  I was sad to hear that she won't be able to come home for the summer, so no summer visit, but she does come home in December so I might try for her company then.  We both need to go try on some fabulous evening gowns.  Also enjoyed sushi and Up! with Lactose Intolerant Girl.  Good times all around, more or less.  And my Amazon package came yesterday, including my book club book which so far is pretty awesome, and my new music, which is also awesome.  I can listen to Kung Fu Panda for hours, I did so at work this morning, and No Line On the Horizon has at least two good songs, which is my only criteria for a CD.  I need to listen to the whole thing on headphones because it's a little hard to understand Bono on my work speakers.  But whatever.

My parents go to St. Louis tomorrow!  Oh my god, I can't wait.  Just to come home to a quite house on occasion will be quite splendid.  Of course, with my luck, something horribly awful will happen that neither Jack nor I can handle, and things will go pear-shaped from there.  But hopefully not.  I'm looking forward to the parentlessness.

Hmm, not much else to report.  Work is work.  It would be better if people would stop calling in sick!  I can't wait until I'm an account manager and get to take a day off each freaking week.  Ugh.  And it always seems to be three people in the same bloody day.  For crying out loud...

Anyway, I need sugar.
