Vacation, Day 5

Mar 19, 2015 20:46

Fifth day of vacation and I finally feel I have let go. I spent part of the afternoon lounging in the sun on the deck at the Stewart Island Lodge just plain not caring about anything I did or anything going on anywhere. It was awesome.

So, we got up before dawn and made our way to the bakery in Bluff and found it was closed. Ended up getting stuff from the supermarket instead then we walked along the coast a bit until it was time for our catamaran ferry to Stewart Island.

So here we are. We booked a Ulva Island tour for tomorrow in the morning and a kiwi bird tour for tomorrow night (well, wait listed on that), but otherwise we're just hanging out. I read for a bit after lunch today, did a six or seven mile trail run, and then took a bath and read some more. Blue cod for lunch (yum), oysters and beef curry for supper. This evening we walked on the beach out to some rocks where there were a bazillion mussels. And now I'm in. I'm done doing things. And a little sunburnt on the face.
