Things that irritate me...
Actually, here's one that always irritates me. It's one of my favorite pet peeves. When I ask someone how they are, they say, "I am well. How are you?" It drives me up the wall because it strikes me as implying grammatical superiority over the use of "I am good." "I am good" is correct because "am" in this case is transitive. But that's neither here nor there. If people ask me how I am, I usually just say something like, "Absolutely wonderful!"
