So yesterday (Saturday) I decided to go down and visit the 'rents. We needed to pick up a bistro table set that mom got us, and I figured I'd go with them to the Amelia Beef Festival. None of us knew really anything about it.
Here are the basics:
It lasts 4 hours (4 PM - 8 PM). We ended up being there about 3 1/2 hours. It costs $25 to get in. Once in, they stamp your hand to show that you're 21 (if you so are, of course). Then...everything is free.
You want beef ribs? They had piles of them. No lines. Just walk over and grab one. Same with beef barbeque sandwiches and roasted corn. Heck, the same for beer! (Bud, Bud Lite, Mich Ultra, and Mich Amber Bock)
The only thing that occasionally had a line was the Steamwheel sandwiches, which appeared to be prime rib.
Some bands played. Some cigars were smoked. Much beer was drank and much beef was eaten. What a good time.
