About that time again...

Happy holidays everyone!!

Hope everyone is surviving through the closing weeks of the semester, finals are almost here and then we can all go home and relax for a while! This semester has gone really well for me to this point. I've been extremely busy as I've been getting into a lot of my major classes finally and holding down three jobs and now running track, but it's been a blast! I'll be looking forward to getting back home to CR though and hanging out with some friends I haven't seen in a while, not to mention spending time with my awesome family! Unfortunately, my break will cut a week short...I have to go back to RF on January 16th for track practice since we have our first meet on the 21st even though classes don't start until the 23rd but oh well, that goes with the territory of being in college athletics I guess.

Anyway, my last week or two here haven't been anything too exciting, just getting a lot of final stuff for classes done and getting in extra tutoring sessions with my students as they all prepare for finals. But on Saturday, I had a great day. Me, Bobby, Tiff, Jason, and Laura all ran in the Reindeer Run at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. The race had over 5,000 runners/walkers in it! It was about 10 degrees out and it was snowing a lot, so it made the roads really slippery. I didn't get a very good time, but I finished in 21st place overall so I was happy about that. All in all, it was a lot of fun to go and race with a bunch of friends again, it's been a while.

Oh, cool thing that happened at the race...Me, Bobby, Tiff and Jason all circled around each other just before the race to pray (like we always do) and afterwards a guy came up to us and asked where we were from and we said we were from UW-River Falls. He said, "Good luck and God bless you." I thought that was so cool that a random guy would say that to us, it was an awesome gesture that he gave to us.

I don't know really what else has been going on with me, just school, tutoring/teaching, and running at track practice each day I guess is about it. The weather has been pretty nippy for running the last few days, this morning it was -15 degrees when I was out running!! That's almost Fargo level of cold there! Oh well, I don't seem to be bothered by it as much as some of the other guys, probably cuz of what Mr. Timm always told me at CRHS..."Everyday is perfect running conditions."

Anyway, I've been up since 5:30 this morning and I need some rest before 8am class tomorrow, so I'm off to my comfy bed. Good night all, and God bless!!
