Mom and Carolyn visited us about 1 weekish ago and took us to Outback. Mmmmm. :) Too bad we couldn't show them our new place at that time (or at this time, either) since it was a mess. It was nice to see them, though... plus Mom brought me cans of Skyline. :) The weekend before this, Robert and I went to Amy Jenkins' wedding over near Fremont. It was nice, but I'm glad Colleen was there, otherwise we would have had no one else to talk to. I thought more runners would be there, and Megan was even on the list, but no dice. I think this is finally the first of MY friends' weddings that we got to go to. Finally. :)
Last Saturday, Robert and I once again ran the 5k at BW's Sparky Adams meet. I could not believe how ridiculously behind it was when we got there.... 3 whole HOURS behind. I thought once we arrived it would be about time for me to warm up... no. Not even close. So my meal planning was way off, I was tired from sitting around, but I would not leave without running. What an even further waste that would have been! I was happy that the 7:30pm race at least meant the sun was gone and it was a little cooler, although that did nothing to deter the nasty wind. I was doing really well for about the first half of the race, then I got too tired from fighting the wind all by myself and ended up 2nd with a somewhat sub-par time. Then T made it worse by basically poo-pooing my road PR, saying it wasn't real b/c 'you never know how accurate those races really are'. Well, I'll show you T, by breaking 18 at Allegheny in a few weeks where YOU will get to watch and see that I was right. I hope...
We didn't get to Robert's house until 1am that Easter morning, which sucked since I had to play my trumpet. Our brass group was totally not good this year, and it was even people we've used before and knew! Some of those people will not be called back next year... what a disappointment. We joined Mom, Sharon/Jeff, Gram, Joey/Josiah, and that other side of the family that is really weird at Applebee's for our Easter lunch. For dinner, we joined Robert's parents for some ham. We were the only ones who came home so it was pretty quiet.
I went into lab for a grand total of one day this week due to driving back and going to Chicago for a conference... awesome.
