Where’s the haboob?

Jun 25, 2008 22:12

Dew point at it's highest so far and has held steady only dropping as low as 47 today. Earlier today there were huge thunderheads to the South and they were moving North. Of course was hoping for a storm, at least a dust storm, or the mighty haboob. Right now the air is calm, heavy, and warm. We sadly didn't get anything. The storm split and headed both Northwest and Northeast of us. It's that wave of dust and intense wind that really signals the start of the monsoon season for me. i'm sure it's on its way. Now that i think of it i haven't heard any cicadas buzzing yet. They always buzz during the season as well. Some how they just know.

We did get this warning which really got me excited:

We threw plans of possibly staying at the Villa in Carefree this weekend to save the money. Not totally sure though cause we would love to go up there. It's such a great getaway on the cheap. We're pretty sure we'll be there a month from now though. We'd especially love to head to Sedona again.
