You must be mistaken i'm am still alive

i miss you guys. i miss reading my friends page. i miss posting. i've taken lots of pics and the time to just sit my ass down and process them for posting hasn't been there.

Work is relentless. i feel like i'm always behind. Then when i do get a groove it gets interrupted to help with some program/plotting/printing/computer/network/ect. issue. Last week i really thought i was catching up only to have a half dozen projects literally on my desk to review, markup, or to process. i can think of three big deadlines this week and i still have to correct some plans as well.

At the office we are nearly fully staffed again and this time with very confident people. Oddly enough one guy has never even worked in an architectural office before or even studied architecture. He just downloaded Google's SketchUp and later got ahold of AutoCad and started playing around with drafting programs. He's very bright and spent 7 years working for Bank of America. He's done very well learning our program ArchiCad. The second new hire this year is Alene, an interior designer and project manager we were able to steal from another firm. She was using the same cad program but an older version so there's a little bit of a learning curve along with dealing with our office standards, file management, and of all things keyboard commands. She's done very well so far.

My friend Jeff maintains his connection from his new home in NY city. He's still working for the same firm but is not happy with it. It's an all Mac office which he likes but the cad standards and working habits aren't up to level nor is the type of work he's been handling.

My wife Michelle, aka the Smooch, is doing very well with her new personal chef/catering business. She's picked up clients with special dietary needs and one that simply loves food that proved very lucrative. Now her sister would like to help join her after their last venture - after it paid very well for her - can't blamer her for that.

The past month i've battled a nagging cold followed by what i can only guess is allergies. Lots of stuffiness and congestion. Weather is so up and down. One day its warm and quite beautiful then, like today, it's cold and rainy. We had rice-sized hail earlier, so much that it almost looked like snow on our patio. i love the weather but its impact has taken its toll.
