Office
Well after a 3 week delay because of our consultants i finally got the Ridberg residence set complete and sent it off to the printers only to find out that one block of notes was completely missing from the set. Ugh! So i had to reprint one sheet and have the reprographic service copy it and replace the sheet in the sets. Plus i had to type up a 7 page response letter to all the comments the city had about the set - literally pointing out where i answered each comment within the set (lazy ass city workers). i really hope i covered everything but i could see it coming back just because they want very specific details. Our structural consultant was totally freaked when we asked for a detail to show the framing from the ceiling furring to the trusses - he's never had to create one before and there was no standard detail for such. It took nearly a week of explaining that the city reviewer wanted to see something even though such details are routinely handled by the contractors sans details or instructions. Unfortunately after all the rushing i did today to finish it and have it ready for delivery following the city's instructions the submittal was denied because we forgot to include the previously submitted copies the city already commented on.
Working on the Ridberg residence was just on top of scanning two schematic plans and converting them to PDFs as sign-off sheets for the clients and finishing city revisions for another project, the Hill House expansion. Now i have Dr. Tay's revisions to buildings A & B and a new TI to enter for Desert Mirage Medical Plaza.
i got an email from Jeff and he said he'd like to stay in Mexico until Tuesday. He wasn't sure if he should ask or just say he missed his flight. He's supposed to come home today but told me previously that he wanted to stay through to the weekend if he could change his plane tickets. i replied that he should stay a bit longer and enjoy his time. The office is okay. Sounds like he's really having fun down there.
