Okay, so lots of walking last week, but the only intentional miles was my 5k on Saturday. I usually have pre-race jitters but that morning was full on crippling anxiety, where I was sitting in my car crying and some of the girls from my training team had to come get me out of the car. Not sure why it happened all of a sudden but my anxiety has been on another level lately.
The race wasn't terrible, but I definitely could have done better. I ran a few intervals but didn't stick to my timer very much at all. And then when I crossed the first thing where they announce your name before the finish line, I almost broke down again and I think the annoucer saw that because he said "you've got this, Heather".
Goals for this week, just to get my daily steps in, go to run club tomorrow evening and Saturday morning and get some intentional miles in because next Monday is when I start the official 14 week training plan for the half marathon that my training group gave us.
Congratulations on the 5k! Getting to the start of the race is sometimes much harder than the race itself. I often get very nervous before the race and relax only when I start running. And, yes, the finishing line is also a very emotional moment. Sounds like you had a fantastic announcer, by the way, addressing runners by name and being so supportive.

It rained it's butt off here last week, too, but I couldn't make it to the gym to get on the treadmill. Great job getting your miles in!
