Here are two words that sound like they should mean something rather different than what they actually mean:

-Vagrant
What I think it should mean: A scoundrel, a rogue, a scamp.
-Revenant
What I think it should mean: Something imbibed with or embodying holy power. Can be used as a noun or adjective, depending upon circumstances.

I do not like these words. Largely because they sound cool and I always want to use them incorrectly.

I have no idea why these things just popped into my mind.
