This afternoon, at a little after 3pm (local time - about an hour ahead of you East coasters), there was a magnitude 7.4 earthquake down near
Martinique and Dominica. I could feel the floor moving in the house, and the table I was sitting at started rattling (it's a plastic table), and soon after that the mirror hanging on the wall began swinging slightly. Funnily enough the animals didn't seem to react (I think the cats were hiding, although I didn't look for them until well after) - Tess only got up after I moved to look outside, and got exciting when it looked like I was going outside. So far I haven't heard of any damage to the island south of us - it was off-shore in deep (90km) water - so no tsunami warnings either.
