The Game of Their Lives
The Game of Their Lives (official movie site) - the tale of the 1950 US soccer team going for the World Cup. They beat England 1-0, an amazing upset victory (literally a 500-1 shot according to London bookmakers). It was widely thought the score was a typo, or a hoax. Although the US team didn't go on to win the Cup - the fact that they beat England was a huge event - as the US team was mostly amateurs, and the English team was widely regarded as the best in the world. Anyways - John Rhys-Davies plays my grandfather - the team coach. I guess it isn't released yet - my parents have in in-queue to get it via Netflix. Don't know if I'll be able to find it down here though - I may have to wait until December to see it.
